I'm thinking 8, just in case. Below is my current TBR Pile, split into what month I bought/received the book. Currently I'm making a concious effort to finish January lol. I definitely want to take Venom, because it's an ARC and I'm taking Just After Sunset, because I have finished part of it and would like to complete it. I will also take Blood Bound, because I want to give Patricia Briggs another go.

Beautiful Creatures is a MUST. Jessicas Guide to Dating on the Dark Side is another must. Blue Bloods is amazing. I've heard good things about Perfect Chemistry. Suzanne Weyn is a good writers and I'm interested in that retelling series, so I'd suggest Midnight Pearls and Water Song too.
I would take Beautiful Creatures, Perfect Chemistry, Need, Lament, The Host and Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side :) All of which I've heard great things about. Personally, I've only read Need and Perfect Chemistry (awesome books), but Lament and Beautiful Creatures are going with me on holiday as well ;) Have a nice trip!
